I've added my 2 cents on a few of the NF-53 threads but I thought I should probably make my own posting with a picture. This is just a great guitar. A little boring to look at but incredible to play. That's all.

I completely forgot the plastic was on there. I don't notice it when I play but it's more obvious when you just look at it.Fantastic!
How would you feel about taking the plastic off the pickguard?![]()
I included the pair of Esquires seeing as this was supposed to be the PRS Tele. All three cover a little different ground.OK, THAT was a great picture/background...
And congrats, it looks killer!
Doesn't look boring to me - looks like a class act. Super nice!I've added my 2 cents on a few of the NF-53 threads but I thought I should probably make my own posting with a picture. This is just a great guitar. A little boring to look at but incredible to play. That's all.

I managed to pick up one of these right out of the gate and have sat with it for months. There were things I loved about it - ergonomics, weight, resonance, playability, aesthetics. There were other things that bothered me - mostly it was just too bright and kinda clangy I felt, emphasizing a very forward note attack that left nothing to hide your playing in.
I even kept the pickguard plastic on it bc I was thinking "Well, I'm just going to sell this..."
But as time went on I couldn't quite pull the trigger to move it along because it does a "thing" and has it's own voice, and it's fun to play as long as you are on your 'A' game...I keep picking it up to play and in fact it's rewarding when that happens. So now I've come all the way around and decided to give it a forever home here - I'm addicted to the snappiness of the attack, the mid range chewiness of the note definition. She stays.
