I don't do the forum thing very much but I felt compelled to tell my little story and talk up the PRS SE model guitars.
I pulled the trigger on the MM baritone last week. Just so happened that it was the day of one of the meet and greet at the local music store. That in itself was pretty interesting.
Anyway, this is my second PRS as I purchased a DGT about 3 years ago. Now I have been playing for about 47 years and still perform pretty regular. I am very particular when it comes to my guitars and I own a bunch. When I first heard about the Mike Mishok baritone, I must say that I was a little cautious as my experience with other brands "value" models i.e. (epi , squire, etc), usually left me a bit flat in a few areas. The old "you get what you pay for" adage comes to mind. I absolutely love my DGT and everything about it. It is a quality instrument. So my expectations of the SE branded guitar were set a bit lower prior to me seeing and playing it.

Well it has been a little over a week since I purchased it, and I have played every day. I gotta tell you, I was extremely impressed with the fit, finish, playability and tone of this guitar. I mean it really blew me away. I have been looking for things to be able to say to myself, "oh, now I see why it is more value priced.", and I can't find anything. It plays like butter, looks great and has great tone. Though I haven't played it live as of yet, nor have I written any new songs incorporating it, that is at the top of the to do list and I cant wait. I have played several bari guitars prior to this one, and I can say that this is the best one that I have played. PUPs are very articulate and clear. This is going to fit in just fine with my blues repertoire.
So a big shout out to the PRS gang for putting out such a quality instrument at a very great price. And thanks Paul for the kind words.

This is an SE I've been planning on getting for a long time now. I should pull the trigger some day. Congrats on your new guitar and welcome!

I've had one for about 4 years, it's been great. My only complaint is the silverburst finish is a bit "metal" looking - mine was from before they offered the brownburst finish. If the color of the paint is my biggest complaint, it must be a pretty rockin' instrument. I have upgraded pickups in mine, and get a convincing bass guitar sound on the neck pickup. The bridge pickup I have in there gets a great rock tone, but I have tried a few in there and it's more than easy to get into metal territory.

The only thing on the radar to maybe replace it might be a Clint Lowery SE, but that's only because it has a beveled/carved top and a slightly shorter scale length that might be easier to switch back and forth between my regular guitars. That said, it's been almost a year since it was announced and it's still vaporware.
