Thanks for all the love for her, she is addictive! Great call on the ebony tuners Audie, I see them in the PRS store (I don't see Ni, odd), I may just do that, though after showing her off, most people tell me to keep the gold. We will see how it wears on me. The neck is certainly thicker than my LP 50s style, but I am having a hard time to get repeatable measurements on the contour, perhaps it is slightly asymmetrical....I will keep trying. I can say that my fears are unfounded even though I thought my LP was as thick as my hands could do comfortably, I have no problems with the neck so far, in fact, I like it.
The piezo blend is something to hear if you haven't. Especially with just a bit of gain. Though it is a bit warmer/thicker than my LP. I have a stock pile of DR pure blues all nickel strings that I use on my LP...now I wonder when I take the stock strings off and put them on it may be a bit too warm. I may have to go through a pile of strings again to find what I really like.
Question for you all: On the warranty registration paperwork, there is a spot that says to place the sticker from the hang tag on the card before mailing it in. There was no sticker on the hang tag, just the hand written serial number, etc. I wonder if I mail it in without a sticker if that would cause issues on warranty (some places are real anal about following instructions to the letter or they void your claim).
Question #2: I see the build date is 4-22 on the hang tag. Oddly, this is the time frame that I was first told it would be ready. I am curious what this date entails. Is it the completion date or perhaps the date the neck was glued in or some other step of the process? When I first got it last week it was covered in fingerprints and swirl marks in the finish so my imagination is telling me that the dealer has been playing with it all this time...except Matt at PRS confirmed it was not ready. A cleaning and polish and all that went away (I should have posted before and after photos)......could I use the date on the hang tag as evidence the guitar should have shipped earlier?
By the way, the dealer sent me a 15% off coupon good for a week on anything I would like to buy from them online...yeah, I'll get right on that.
Oh, also, that is my dog (border collie) and she is smarter than some people I have met. She has been imprinted with the idea that I want her in the photos. When she sees me point my phone at something, she stands next to whatever I am taking a photo of. I think it came from taking a lot of pictures and I asked her to stand there as I took the photos when I first got the phone. Now I can't un-train her. I tried to push her away for a good shot, but she kept coming back (you can see she is trying to "get into position" as I took the shot). I didn't want to bother with putting her in the house, so I just ran with it. I trust my guitar in her hands, nobody outside the family will get near it!
