Seems like end of the year is always lucky for me to pick up 1 or 2 used "bargains". The first was a 2009 McCarty SC245, which I quickly "tweaked" a bit (look closely).

Next up...2011 MEQ...love this color and top. The 53/10's are a nice match for the RW neck on these IMO.

And the promised year end family portrait. Actually had to take two to give everyone a turn. Let's see who can identify the guitars switched between pictures first.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I've been very fortunate to put together such a nice selection. It continually amazes me that PRS can produce such outstanding instruments of every different type.

Les, Markie and Eric (I assume you guys meant the 58/15's)...

Haven't had a lot of time on them yet...but really liking the 58/15's. I'm not very good at verbal descriptions of sound qualities...but...I find them to be a little "hotter" than the 57/08's, especially in the upper mid frequencies (somewhere between a 57/08 and a 59/09) with a little more clarity/sweetness in the higher frequencies, especially in the neck position (like the 53/10, my previous favorite for clean neck position tones, but easier to drive into smooth distorted tones than the 53/10). They also produce a nice single coil tone when split...as good if not better than the 53/10 (which IMO had the most convincing single coil sound of the 5x/xx series, almost as good as the 408 but you don't need to roll the volume off to get there). I made a few recordings of that Ted SC245 with the original 57/08 which I will try to duplicate with the 58/15's now in the guitar. My "day job" is a little crazy at the moment, I'll try to post some clips within a few weeks if I can.

That is a VERY nice centerfold pic! Very nice.

That is a nice collection of guitars. The end of the year always seems to bring something new for me as well. Nothing I can post here though.
