Hi everyone, I’m looking for the ideal pickup combo for my HSH PRS-style handmade guitar (chambered korina body, maple top, 24 frets, Floyd Rose).

I play through modelers (Quad Cortex / Fractal) and sometimes amps (Mesa, Marshall) and I’m after a set that is:

  • Studio-ready / mixes well
  • Highly expressive and dynamic
  • Great for clean splits with "Straty quack" sounds (positions 2 & 4) – I play funk and stuff like Knopfler
  • Warm and fluid for fat bluesy leads (Eric Steckel, Bonamassa, Gary Moore)
  • Tight and defined enough for modern hard rock/metal (Latest Judas Priest, Mammoth...)
  • Capable of singing lead tones (Satriani, Friedman)
Here are the 3 pickup combos I’m considering:

  1. Seymour Duncan Custom Custom / STK-S4 / '59 Neck
→ Smooth, easy to mix, clean and balanced, classic Seymour combo
  2. Bare Knuckle Rebel Yell / Bare Knuckle Mother's Mil RWRP / Bare Knuckle The Mule
→ Boutique, dynamic, full of character and harmonic richness
  3. Seymour Duncan Custom Custom / Bare Knuckle Mother Milk RWRP (Or Suhr V60LP) / Bare Knuckle The Mule
→ Possibly the best of both worlds: warmth, articulation, versatility, mix-friendly
What would you choose and why? I am open to any other suggestions!
Looking forward to your advice, thanks!

I get a lot of those tones from the SD Hades Gates in my SE Custom 24-08. Rev. Willie G. helped design some great ones in the Hades Gates!!! Love the split coil tones.
I did the resistor thing to get partial from the second coil.
