My first ever expensive guitar, and it's a PRS

Ever since I was a teen, I wanted an Emerald American PRS. With age, I found that I liked the greens of a Teal Black even more. Here it finally is, just came in tonight: a Teal Black 408 in gold hardware with a Honduras Rosewood fretboard. I haven't slept in over 24 hours(unrelated) and I'm sure that contributes to me being unsure whether or not this whole thing is a dream. The thing sounds as pristine as crystal. As a guitar lover who could never afford outside of an Epiphone, this is quite a deal for me. Enjoy the pics! And let me know if you think I should change the pickup rings to Ivory white or not.

My opinion is don't change a thing....it is beautiful! !

Congrats on the awesome new 408! They cover alot of ground tonally! Stoked for you on your first PRS.....you made a great choice!! :)

Great first choice of a prs. Keep those pickup rings black . Those look great

Congrats!

Looks awesome the way it is, but I understand the desire to personalize. I don't know if white would do it for me, but some rosewood rings to match that awesome fretboard jumps to my mind.

I think ivory would really make it pop, but black and gold is super classy in an understated way.

Beautiful and congrats! Keep the black rings! I changed the white ones on my whale blue 408 to the black ones...they look so much better!!

With most colors I like the cream rings and trim, but that combination of black rings and teal black looks absolutely fantastic. As it happens, I once had an Artist II in teal black with cream pickup rings, so if you want to know how that combination looks, here it is:

I actually prefer the way your new 408 looks. :top:

Les is right. The cream rings look good too. I'm guessing it'd be pretty hard to make that guitar look bad...

Awesome looking guitar. Leave the rings black - it would look good with creme or rosewood too, but that black looks perfect for that guitar, IMHO.

Thanks a ton everybody, for sharing my happiness with me. I guess I should just leave em black! Big question though, where on earth would I find a Honduran rosewood set of 408 rings and switch cap anyways? Especially a switch cap would be a tough find

408 rings are proprietary to PRS... I have no idea if you can find anyone to make the rings for you outside of the private stock department.

Regardless, congrats on the new guitar! The only problem with buying one expensive guitar is you start to realize why the cheap guitars are cheap.
