For over 10 years, I dismissed the Custom 24. My original thought process was it was in between a Gibson and Fender and not very close at sounding close to either. So if you want to get a Gibson or Fender sound, just buy them and not a guitar in between. That thought process is a thing of the past for me now.

After owning the Core Custom 24 guitar for a while, I found the sounds of it is just wonderful and it has its own voice, and a good voice. It has the rocking humbucker sound, a little Tele sounding in toggle switch 2, and a little Strat sounding in toggle switch 4. There is a 2-octave neck, great whammy bar that stays in tune, wonderful carved violin body which is unique and great looking. High quality craftmanship, and a neck that is so comfortable to play. Doing solos is so effortless on this guitar. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I own two. 1986 cu24 in vintage yellow with birds. Wonderful guitar.

2011 cu24 blue burst dirt birds 5909 pickups. I put a Mann one piece trem on it.

Both of these are fantastic guitars.

My 2011 was the 3rd prs I owned and was also the one that locked me in on prs guitars for life.

I now own both of these cu24s , 2000 McCarty, three 97 CEs, 08 CE, Vela and 2010 Steve Fischer Angelus cutaway

I'll see your 2 and raise you 2 more! I've got 4 CU24s ranging from a 1990 non-10 top to a 2015 private stock. Different pickups, neck carves, tuners, and levels of bling but I love them all for the playability and range of tones. I have other PRS guitars that are fantastic too but I'd sell them all before getting rid of the CU24s. It's just the perfect guitar for me. Glad you have come to love yours!

I’m with you. Love my Custom 24. People get hung up on comparing it to a Gibson or a Strat, which is fine, but it’s its own thing. The #2 position is a wonderful and unique sound that I can get on other guitars.

This guitar is the most flexible guitar I own. No guitar is perfect, but this one gets pretty close. I do prefer a larger neck for chords when playing by the first 3 frets of the guitar. My 2021 335 neck is my favorite for playing chords down there. The toggle switch on the Custom 24 would be better in the Silver Sky position when you have a whammy bar in. But you get used to anything if you spend enough time with it. Instead of moving straight down to move the toggle, you have to move your arm to the right and then down. I really am getting on with the 85/15 TCI pickups through two of my amps. Very satisfying sounds for clean and distortion.

Beautiful guitar! I only have one Custom 24 ... because that's all I need! It is perfect and covers so much ground. Mine is 33 years old and has hardly needed any adjustments or anything other than regular string changes in all that time! Solid guitar
