It’s been a few months since I picked up the 408. I just reconfigured my whole setup. Amp and pedals all working nicely with my Stratocasters.

So I plug in the 408.... and it hums like crazy. Almost as if it were a cheap single coil. No matter what positions the three switches are in, it hums... and as I re-orient the guitar, it hums more.

This is not happening with my Strats (one with stacked humbuckers, the other single coils).
Anyone have any idea what might be occurring?

Sounds like a ground loop. Could be in any number of spots.

What happens when you plug the 408 directly into the amp (bypassing the pedals)?

If the guitar used to be quite then look for loose solder joints or loose ground on the bridge or trem claw
