Been thinking about a way to meaningfully contribute weekly while keeping it fun and interactive...

I love documentary films, music documentaries in particular so what I propose is this, every Sunday one member will suggest a doc that is streaming on Netflix and anyone interested has 6 days to get it watched and we reconvene the following Sunday to get a new film for the next week. Each member would just post and discuss throughout the week as we watch the film.

I love talking PRS "shop" as much as the next guy but I think we can learn about each other on a different level as we discuss and share opinions on different things.

I'm asking for 1-2 hours of your time a week...

Anyone wanna do this with me???

I'm in... but our Netflix is not as populated up here in Canada

Cool, five should get us started. But if anyone still wants to get in on this, feel free to jump in..

I'll pick this weeks film and we will just go in order of when you join going forward. The only criteria should be music related films and streaming on Netflix, Concerts, Documentaries, Classic Album series etc... Maybe even biopics like Walk the Line, Coal Miner's Daughter...

"You're Gonna Miss Me". A film about Roky Erickson that I've been wanting to watch for a while. Can't wait to converse with everyone about it as we get it watched.

I may not join every discussion, but I'll play along.

I've already seen this movie, but it would be worth watching again.

Sounds good to me! As long as a handful of people can agree to contribute weekly, I think the more the merrier regarding the discussions... :)

So when do I need to watch this by?

I would like us to have a new film post each Friday, so hopefully we can watch over the weekend and discuss throughout the following week and then on Friday the new film would be posted by the next in line...

Ok guys, after some thought, I think we should run each film Sunday to the next Sunday. This way we have plenty of time to watch them and make comments, converse etc... Thoughts?

I'm going to start a thread about You're Gonna Miss Me gor this week and next week send a reminder PM to the next in line to pick us a movie to watch...and so on and on... Should be fun! Hopefully we will learn a lot about each other and maybe get turned on to some music we otherwise wouldn't know about in the process...

Sounds awesome! I'm in too... I have a ton of them lined up in my Instant Queue already!

Sweet! Glad to have you!!! The best part about this kind of thing in regards to the "cards" is it gives each participating member a chance to post a good discussion thread each week and we all get something interesting to watch and enjoy!!! Win Win Win

This week for "The Finer Things Club" I have chosen the film "Still Bill" about Bill Withers. I centers around his need to find the desire to continue writing and become more active in music.
Just in case you are not familiar with Bill by name, his songs are timeless and instantly recognizable.

I did my homework...kind of.

For some reason I had remembered you saying a Rory Gallagher documentary, not a Roky Erickson documentary. I watched the Rory Gallagher flick. Never heard the guy before.
