Most Influential...Drummer

Lots of great ones, but Mike Portnoy is the best drummer I've ever heard. His fills are amazing, and the man can do more with his feet than many can do with hands and feet.

Don't take my word for it. Check this out:

And for something with a little less fluff, but just TASTY!!!

I completely agree with you 11top on Mike Portnoy. He has been my favorite since 1992 simply amazing.

The most influential drummer for me would probably be John Bonham, because from the first moment I heard Good Times/Bad Times, I wanted to play guitar with that dude on the drums. I also liked the styles of Ian Paice of Deep Purple, Bill Bruford of Yes, and Barriemore Barlow of Jethro Tull.

Gotta agree with Steve about Portnoy... Adrenaline Mob is some fantastic music! And his new project sounds killer too!!!

Wondering, has the good Doc not seen This is Spinal Tap??? If not, he MUST!!!

Are you kidding? Check out this link...

I dig:

Jojo Mayer

Ben Walsh (and Bobby Singh)

Ben Walsh (with The Bird)

Stanton Moore

and of course, this guy!

...also Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth) is VERY creative drummer. I miss him a lot (sorry, Ax, you're awesome too).

I started to figure out how cool Lopez' drumming is while watching the "Lamentations" DVD. Great feel!

Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) blows me away.

Hands down I've listened more to Neil Peart than any other drummer.
