Now Les, you know how bitter I am that my NF3 doesn’t have birds! I love that guitar! But treat it like a red headed step child. And not the smoking hot read head blue eyes step cousin we all wanted. Like a red hair freckle faced mean step brother.

Ok, not that bad, but still not the hot step cousin. (Til I plug it in).

Is that an SE? It looks flat topped as well as its only got dots - no birds! the Knobs look cheap too and ho trem either.....

In all seriousness the colour is nice, concept is cool but you have to wonder who decided to cheap out on dots. Being a hollowbody, I can understand the lump of metal for a bridge but those knobs look ugly. Even if it was half the Price, I wouldn't buy this over a 'Core' version if I could find one.

The lower switch is a 3 way. The 5 way acts like a normal 5 way. The 3 way is used to set pick up mode. Your 3 choices are Humbucker, Hot Humbucker and Single coil.

I'm with you guys. I dig the Mammouth Ivory, especially since you can't get it anymore. Totally would!

My McCarty SC has mammoth ivory birds on the fretboard and headstock. I like it.

The thing that’s nice about the material is that it looks like what it is - old ivory. So it brings a bit of vintage vibe to a guitar. In the pic of that guitar it appears white, but mammoth ivory has a lot of tan streaks.

The birds thing...Over the years I’ve had probably 35 PRSes with birds! Some are very fancy looking. But I’m kinda over needing fancy inlays (and tops) on every single guitar.

Simplicity and a more traditional look can be awesome. My next PS will have moons.
