More Clips, Less Talk

Nice job again, Chuck! I'd have liked the overdriven amp dialed in differently (maybe it's a modeler) but I'm splitting hairs here.

Hi Les
I actually used a Fender Blues Jr and a Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret , I miced it with an SM 57 . I actually prefer a FatBoy ribbon mic as I seem to get better results with it ! The point is well taken !

Probably just a little too much pedal and not enough amp, then. I like 57s, use them all the time.

Well, I spent from 10:00am to 4:00pm in the local studio just today. Here's the result:

Chimes with Guit.

No shredding here. To me, this one's all about tone and atmosphere. Trying to go for tones like C. Cross "Sailing", C. Isaak "Wicked Game", M. Knopfler "Why Worry", etc.

Full disclosure, the bulk of the guitar here is a fender strat, with my Bernie only making an appearance towards the end.

Heh, I'm sure I had a discussion about John McLaughlin with someone a few threads ago. D*mn it!, just like John M. on "In a Silent Way", my g*damn strat's B-string is a tad flat on this one!

PS. Question: who played the arpeggiated stuff in C. Cross's "Sailing", Cross himself? Anyone know?
I very much enjoyed that, man that is something awesome to improve over.
Very good job!

Here's a clip of my S2 SC semi. I'm just playing some blues riffs over a backing track from youtube to try out my new xotic EP booster.
Signal chain is S2 > Boss GT6 - ( external loop of GT6 - Movall rocket train compressor and overdrive > xotic ep boost) GT6 is supplying master volume, delay, and noise gate. > Mesa Lone star Special (clean channel)
Mic'd with an SM57 and an e609 > Presonus bluetube preamp > computer interface
I'm really digging the ep booster.
