I was at rehearsal last night and were were reviewing some song issues. On one song, which is a hard rock/metal fast muted tight rhythm, we get very muddy and indistinct. We listened to the original band's version live, and it is clear that they are playing Marshalls and have very little by way of lows, and have very mid-heavy tight attack.
I have quite a lot of lows from my Archon. They are big, but tight, but not 100% defined. There is a little wiggle room there. I turned the Depth knob all the way down and the Archon became a chugging machine! It sounded just like a Marshall, but not as thin in the mids. No thump, all definition.
