Mommy, mommy, it followed me home! NAD

32 To 35 mA Is What I Believe Mine Was When It Sounded Best. It Has Been A While Though.
Do you happen to remember the plate voltage in your amp? The bias current value alone doesn't provide the full picture. The plate voltage in my amp is quite high. Based on what I've seen on the Marshall forum, plate voltages seem to vary widely, with some as low as 440V. I might have some free time this weekend, so I'm planning to take it apart and make some adjustments. I'm aiming for 60-65% of plate dissipation, but we will see how it sounds.

I Understand Completely. I Don't Remember What My Plate Voltage Was Exactly But I Do Remember Landing In That Bias Range With All The Necessary Calculations And Measurements On My Weber Bias Rite. ;)

Edit: I Guess I Could Work Backwards And Get A Real Close Approximation.

I like the amp all in all, but it may be going back. The FX loop (both FX loops) suck on that thing. I'm not sure if I got the lemon, or is this a common thing with the JVM's but I can't have it like that
Not Known For Having Fantastic Loops Which I Feel Really Hurts A Pretty Decent Amp. There Are So Many Solid Choices With Proper Additional Bits That It Makes No Sense To Settle If You Really Need Those Extra Bits. :)

The Marshall amp left the building last week. I found it a loving new home in Dublin, Ireland. The new owner actually came over to Gloucester to collect it, bless him. Biutiful soul, a guitar nerd like the rest of us. I was a bit sad seeing it go, I played a metric load of heavy **** on it since it fell in my hands, and I was a bit worried I would go through withdrawal, but I started using Hi-mode in my Fillmore more often, and as I found out; it doesn't suck nearly as much as I remembered. Yet another reason I love my Boogie so much. Nearly five years of relationship, and we still surprise each other.

That Filmore is a great amp though.
