Looks nice! The new HTML must've just gone into effect, because I was just checking a MODCAT recently and hadn't seen the new look yet.

Someone updated the HTML/CSS a bit so I'm bumping this thread:

https://dchandlerp.github.io/ModCatDecoder/

I'd be happy to update Modcat codes but I'm also trying to make sure the information is correct. So simply telling me that a code isn't there and that your color is X isn't always going to be enough.
Thanks for approving my PR, I was pretty surprised when I saw the mail, lol!

Thanks @Golem!

I appreciate all the folks that keep updating the decoder. It’s a great tool.

Hey, guys.

I just got a new PRS guitar.
The modcat is MXM2FABFBBT_YI_HL-L3.
What does the "MX" in the model name stand for?
The model of the guitar is a Modern Eagle Singlecut Trem.

Huh. Am I looking at the wrong sticker? Mine has a code that looks.....close to these, but the sticker itself is totally different, and the code doesn't quite translate...or has missing digits?

the MODCAT is not a publicly official format, it's the internal system PRS uses to track things in the production line, its subject to change at any second without consideration for backward compatibility with the reverse engineered decoding software.

The decoder works well for my 2018 594, but is off on most points for my new 2021 594 SC. I guess this aligns with the comment above that PRS will likely change over time. Pretty cool tool over all.

Very cool tool. With my 2022 Paul's Guitar, my MODCAT is PGM2FTHFNSS_B-BA.

It got everything but the color and hardware (and arguably the pickups). The color is the Black Gold Burst. The hardware is a combination of chrome and brass.

Model: Paul's Guitar
Top Wood: Maple
Frets: 22
Top Spec: Figured
Top Grade: Ten Top
Neck Wood: Mahogany
Neck Carve: Pattern (Wide Fat)
Fingerboard Wood: Honduran Rosewood
Inlay: Brush Stroke Birds
Bridge: Straight Stoptail
Color: Couldn't find Color for
Hardware: Couldn't find Hardware for _
Treble Pickup: 408 or Paul's Guitar
Middle Pickup: none
Bass Pickup: 408 or Paul's Guitar
Electronics: Selector and Two Mini Toggle Coil-Tap Switches

Same as above, the decoder doesn’t have some info pertinent to your guitar:

PRS MODCAT Decoder

Enter MODCAT:
Model:Couldn't find Model for E4
Top Wood:Maple
Frets:24
Top Spec:Quilted
Top Grade:Couldn't find Top Grade for N
Neck Wood:Rock Maple
Neck Carve:Pattern Thin (Wide Thin)
Fingerboard Wood:East Indian Rosewood
Inlay:Original Solid Birds (pre-2008)
Bridge:Straight Stoptail
Color:Couldn't find Color for
Hardware:Couldn't find Hardware for T
Treble Pickup:Couldn't find Treble Pickup for _
Middle Pickup:Couldn't find Middle Pickup for B
Bass Pickup:Soapbar
Electronics:5-Way Blade or Grainger Bass 4/5

You’ll have to fill those in until an updated decoder comes along. It might be off on several items if the code has syntax issues.
