If you'd have to choose between a 2008 Mira maple top and a opaque solid hog from a younger (2014?) vintage. Which one would you prefer. both are nos. The maple top costs about $ 250 less.
I am considering a Mira , 'cause it's a model I don't have and some forum members say a Mira is highly recommended. I appreciate your input.

If it's truly a 2014 then it's an S2 model, in which case it's a no-brainer for me - the MT version.

S2s came out in 2013 and the Core versions of the Mira and Starla were discontinued immediately upon their release.

It's no S2, 'cause I know the difference, :). I just can't see the ser nr good enough Best guess is 2013 .

I'd rock the all hog version. The year isn't much of a consideration as they are both the same. The Mira pups are voiced differently than other pickups and I think they favor the midrange of mahogany. The addition of maple on a Mira was IMO to appease those who think you have to have it, but the Mira was born to live in hog territory.

I've never heard a maple topped Mira but I've seen a few. To me I just love the simplicity of the hog Mira, very SG feel and sound.

Have to agree. The maple top, technically, should make a guitar more valuable, but contrary to the price debacle you're in, I would say an all hog Mira is where the action is at.
