One, Two, THIRTEEN!
My wife and I got a long weekend away last week. We've got a 2.75 year old, and time to ourselves is limited. We convinced (it wasn't hard) her folks to come up from Southern CO to watch our daughter for the weekend, and we prepped to head down to Santa Fe for a few days. Last minute, some friends called and asked if we wanted company...and to change the destination. They are moving to Belgium for a couple years, so we couldn't say no.
So, we ended up in Crested Butte. We really like the town, and had a great time. The highlight was riding the 401 Trail in near perfect weather and trail conditions. The wild flowers were near peak. It's trail is one of the Holy Grails of mountain biking. It's definitely not a difficult ride...other than the amount of climbing and the altitude! The highest point is above 11,000ft...and breathtaking!
I didn't stop specifically to grab any pics, but did grab some when I stopped. Here are a few. The camera is pretty crappy--I'm out of shape and didn't want to carry any more weight than my 10 year old point and shoot.
