Migraines

I was curious about CBD for my migraines. Did some research and went to my local dispensary. I told the guy that I need the highest CBD content cartridge he had. It was balanced. 50 THC and 50% CBD. I tried it and it’s perfect. I was right in the middle of a migraine Took and eye dropper full and I feel like I never had anything in the first place.

This is superior to stuffing chemicals in your body!

You have to change that on your own. You can be “young lady” or whatever you prefer. :)

Glad you found something for your migraines. Thank God I haven’t had one in years. They were crippling.

Glad you have found some release from that pain. I haven't spoken with my photographer friend that suffers from ocular migraines if she's tried the CBD route. I know that it does help alleviate some seizure disorders to a certain degree, I had a friend that used it with some success.
But for sure come up with a custom title to your own liking. 'course you're already special with us anyway...;)

Though I never suffered from migraines, I had as a result of an accident 24/7 headache. I was sent to neurologist. He prescripted antidepressiva to re-adjust the pain threshold. I took that medical treatment for approx. 6 months. No improvement occured, but gaining weight, being aggressive and the same time always tired.
Neuroligist suspended the treatment. As an alternative approach I was ask to conduct progressive muscle relaxation (PMR).
Whilst university studies I attended to the sports course "military mixed martial arts/close combat". For improving muscular strength and flexibility I discovered power yoga at that time.
I quit PMR, conducted a yoga routine on a regular base. It took a few more years until I started a two years lasting hatha yoga teacher course. In the end it took me 6 years after the accident to got rid off those headaches.
That being said, I recommend relaxation techniques and not to give those pains too much attetion. Relaxation techniques should/could help to ignore them.

Thank you for your kind and very thoughtful words but you have no concept of the kind of pain I experience. Seriously jumping off a bridge to end this misery crosses my mind so many times. This new medication is making things better for my migraines but worse for my digestive track. Welcome to SCREAM the new sound track.

Did the doctors don't note down something which protects your digistive tract? As far as I concern about migraines, it is a reason of neuro-vascular inflamation. There are different triggers named: most common is any (overwhelming) stress. Then lack of sleep, lack of water supply, lack of coffein is named, medicine with nitro moleculars, alcohol (especially red wine). Even fasting or intented suspension of a meal are factors. In general too much sensual overstimulation.
There could be a bunch of measures being considered for immediate and for protective care. In Germany a popular scientific (but approved), periodic publication dealt with migraines. It's called Apotheken Umschau (~ Pharmacy View). It's published for pharmacy customers and it has an edition of more than 9,000,000 biweekly and reaches more than 20,000,000 readers.
Although it's in German, in that essay active ingridients are mentioned for different purposes in the migraines therapy.
In this essay - subtopic "Behandlung eines akuten Migräneanfalls" - there is a discrimination between light/middle and heavy migraine attacks:
for light/middle attacks there is a recommendation to non-opioidic-analgetica/non-steroidic antirheumatica) such like Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Paracetamol, Acetylsalicylacid (ASA) or Diclofenac. If you need to vomit additional medication such like antiemetica are recommended.
In case of a heavy attack Triptane based medications are likely to be prescripted by physicians.
For protective care Metoprolol, Topiramat, or Amitriptylin are mentioned.
Non-medical protective care are given, too, such like relexation techniques, endurance sports, akupucture, bio-feedback-techniques.
For sure: Everything regarding medicine based therapy need to be advised by physicians. But non-medical care could be discovered by yourself. What suits best, maybe it's even playing guitar for meditation.

Your msg is very kind and so sweet. I didn’t mean to sound rude. I am sorry if it came out that way.

I just talked to my doctor and he wants to put me on a Beta Blocker Nadololand take me off Topamax. Doing my research Beta Blockers sound nasty.

I have made a decision to go off all these new meds. One day I am so high, dizzy and confused I can’t function. The next day the pain is so intense those knives in the drawers look promising.(I say these things out of spite. I am so angry my life has been totally yanked from me) Everyday is a fiasco.

Back to square one.

My headaches weren't as tough as your's. I never had those feelings to injure myself.
Being under therapy of the neurologist I was tasked to protocol a headache diary. Quantity, quality, and length. This is - comparable to PTSD - feeding the monster. Because you focus on the pain - but not on good feelings. Inverse approach.

But I felt aswell, that the medical treatment didn't bring beneficial development.
In my case cycling (I substituted the car with a mountain bike or road racer mostly the daily work track. 25 miles a day) reduced very much the body weight about 30 kg in 2 years, and aswell I "exhausted" my brain, because I didn't think about the continuous headaches. Kinda meditation by sports.
On the other hand side it was the yoga practice. Not foremost the asanas, but more to focus on the inside.

If you live in Maryland, I recommend to get in touch with former PRS employee Shawn Nuthall and his wife. They run either a yoga studio and an acupunture office.
In my opinion, you need something that reinforces your resilience and relieve you with positivism.

Before Covid I was at the gym 4-5 times a week. I did the Hatha yoga classes and loved them. I would work out with the weights and then do class. I had to quit because my husband is immune compromised. I need to get this migraine situation sorted out and then off I go. There’s so many things I want to do but don’t know if I will have the capability to do so. That’s the part that brings me to tears. Sorry ppl when I get emotional I express it.

One other thing is you may get bored of me because I am a music person not a gear head. So sorry if I have bored anyone so far.

Wish you all the best, migraines sound awful.

I only ever get a headache if I'm hungover and even then it's nothing like a migraine, and can't remember last time

My migraines have gotten to the point of you can guess. I have been on too many medications. See too many specialists including neurologists. Started with Cambia meds then on to Botox which is helping and now I am on Topamax. I have spent half my adult life in bed. This has been going on for 25 years. This is worse then delivery a baby. Because that’s all said and done. You just never know when you will get or how severe it will be. I hate them with a passion.
I feel for you as my wife has done all of those treatments… she has by far gotten the beet results with proper eating and exercise, if you cant grow it or kill it dont eat it . Its still funny now the botox is out of the picture i can see the anger on her face when the ups man shows up with a new prs. Hope it helps man

I am trying to come up with some ideas. Anybody have any? This is such a good idea for myself personally because I need to relax and focus on one thing at a time whereas at my work you have to be a champion multitasker. Basically that’s the only way I know how to function. I need to relearn how to relax. I started hitting the vape pipe a little too much. It’s is tremendous for pain relief but it’s a drug just like the rest of them.

You ppl have been very kind to me listening to me rambling on about my migraines. Pls feel free to vent about any health issues you have or anything that’s on your mind. I always find that talking helps deflate the situation.

I am always willing to listen, help if I can and be compassionate. Also it can be a very unique learning situation.

Thank you to each and everyone of you. There is hope for this world.

Just one. You mentioned that you used to work out, and I've heard from one of my clients who suffers from migraines that exercise (consistent, almost daily) was the single biggest help for her. Have you tried to start up with that again? Are you able? I don't want to go to "jock" on you, but walking is only "exercise" as a last resort. If that's all you can do, do it, but it takes a lot of walking to be of much benefit and the benefit is still not the same for the heart and lungs, as a more strenuous workout would be. You need at least mid level heart and lung stimulation, so treadmill, exercise bike, bike, jogging, or whatever., IF possible.

Have you tried to get back at that? From the pic you posted, you look pretty fit and trim. My friend said she had to bust through some things before he helped a lot. Like, when she first started working out, she'd get that eye flashing that was normally a signal that a migraine was coming, so at first she'd freak out and stop, thinking the exercise was going to cause a migraine, but her doctor told her not to stop unless it actually happened and she found out if she kept going it went away and she could get in a good 30 minute jog (she uses a treadmill) , and once she started doing it, it REALLY helped with the migraines.
