Ok cool. So this one just happens to be a lot nicer looking than others.

Never know how wood is gonna end up looking after stain. Also have to remember lighting and angles play a factor.

10 top and CE isn't a thing. I wanna say there were a few older ones that floated around as an experiment back in the day but that's it.

10 tops have a 10 in the top corner on the back of the headstock.

And they were all 3-piece tops.


I wouldn’t judge the top exclusively from those photos. Taking a pic from farther up and looking down (like standing and taking a pic of a guitar on a stand) isn’t the optimal angle to sell at a flame top.

You’ll notice that most of the guitars with tops that wow you will be taken much lower, and kinda lookin’ up, and across the @$$ of the guitar.

The same technique works for takin’ pictures of your junk. It’s an illusion.

Call me crazy but the top seems oddly mismatched - the color and the grain. I will take the advice of the group here and go check it out in person, but it doesn't seem very uniform. I guess I am starting to have a bit of that sexy 'top' fever. I didn't really care too much in the past, but with PRS....

Those are the best CEs IMO. This crap of non recessed knobs and backplates is a joke.

Nobody has to waste their time telling me about how PRS does blah blah blah to keep costs down either, so don't even bother. If they could do it back in the day then there's no reason besides greed that they can't do it now.
