Might buy a CE today...questions

Hey PRS friends.

I only have S2 guitars - both with set necks (C24 and McCarty 594). Today I am going to try out a used (but apparently mint) CE 24 in an awesome green color.

Any tips on looking at a used bolt on PRS? I am thinking neck warp or anything like that.

Totally open to any tips or suggestions!

Play every fret on the guitar to make sure you don't have any dead spots or fret buzz. Check the neck pocket for non-superficial cracks. Bring a portable amp to make sure the pickups and push-pull work properly.

Nothing that you wouldn’t also check on a set neck Guitar. I guess maple necks are less prone neck wrap than hog

Make sure all of the electronics do what they’re supposed to do and make sure the trem is working the way it should and hasn’t been adjusted incorrectly.
And are the original strap buttons included.

Possibly.
There’s a bit of shiny reflection going on in the lower horn cutaway, though.

I'm gonna say extremely unlikely on that guitar. I don't think they have ever done a satin top with gloss sides.

I think I’m gonna skip this one. I find the top too mismatched.

For example I just saw this one. Wow!! Is this a ten top? Many of the CEs that I see have very different tops. Very uneven - like light on one side and heavy on the other

I was eyeballing the wood library CE24s on Wildwood. They had a couple of eriza quilt tops that were out of this world.

Those are the best CEs IMO. This crap of non recessed knobs and backplates is a joke.

Nobody has to waste their time telling me about how PRS does blah blah blah to keep costs down either, so don't even bother. If they could do it back in the day then there's no reason besides greed that they can't do it now.

Greed is not the right word. Is it greed when a business charges you for the product they provide? Not in the pejorative sense.

10 top and CE isn't a thing. I wanna say there were a few older ones that floated around as an experiment back in the day but that's it.

10 tops have a 10 in the top corner on the back of the headstock.

Ok cool. So this one just happens to be a lot nicer looking than others.
