Glenn Gross
Another Old Guy
I’m going to start thinning the Gibson herd to justify this in my mind. Pics next week when it arrives. I’m interested to hear the difference between the 53/10s and the 57/08s that PTC put in my McBrazzy.
IMO, 53/10s are the best pickups to ever come out of PRS. They hail from the 'PAF' camp, with thick, rich, harmonically laden tones, but with the articulation and clarity of a clean P-90.I’m going to start thinning the Gibson herd to justify this in my mind. How are you liking your 53/10 limited?Would love to hear your thoughts, Glenn. I have a McCarty with 57/08's and new (to me) a 53/10 Ltd, too. I happen to find both the 57/08's and the 53/10's to be astonishingly good, compared to even the most cherished name-brand pickups on the market. (Of course, it doesn't hurt that both PRS guitars ring out loud like a church bell, they're so musical.)
"Dayum!" That's all I have to say. You know how Paul is frequently seen demo'ing his guitars just by plucking them acoustically and listening to them ring out loud? Yeah, this one does "that thing." It sustains like I'd swear there was a compressor pedal running. And the 53/10's are amazing, too. Will definitely be sharing more opinions & pictures once I can set the scene & mood for some "glamour shots."How are you liking your 53/10 limited?

First impressions to follow.
Yeah my one really rings out acoustically as well, and sustains. As it's my only PRS, and I haven't really played any others it's hard to compare but it really does seem more resonant than other guitars."Dayum!" That's all I have to say. But as far as Glenn Gross's new MEQ pictured above... Nice guitar, man! That color is stunning--and I bet the darker fade around the edges matches perfectly with the rosewood neck. I heartily approve!
