McCarty with Westie headstock

I just saw an SC 09 McCarty with P90s and a Westie headstock.

Is there a story on these? Was Paul just having a go at some retro appointments?

I only saw pics, will be checking out the guitar this weekend if it's still there.

It’s probably a Ted McCarty model, which is different than a regular McCarty. It’ll have a 24.5” scale.
