I got an offer from trade for my McCarty with the full rosewood neck . I’ve never played a dgt so any users here can tell me more about them.
I’m not a fan of the rosewood neck so I’ve been trying get a trade on it.
Thanks

Here's a pretty good thread with some great info and a video.

If you're not a fan of the RW neck, then that is a trade I would make. DGT is basically a trem version of a McCarty.

I’d make the trade, too, if you don’t like the RW neck. The DGT does have a different neck carve, so that may or may not be something to take into consideration.

Big fret wire and hotter pickups. I sold my DGT to get a McCarty. The DGT is a rock n roll machine, loves to be played loud and dirty.

DGT is based on the McCarty so many things are similar like body thickness the DGT is a cross between the Wide fat and the Standard neck and is very nice with larger frets than most PRS and of course the second volume knob and a Trem.
The Bridge pickup has the scale output as the McCarty ( 9K ) and the Neck pickup on the DGT is just a bit lower output at 7.30K
Sounds like a good trade IMHO

The DGT is fantastic. Don’t be afraid of the pickups’ power...the volume and tone knobs work fine. And the neck carve is similar to the McCarty with more narrow shoulders and big frets you don’t notice after a while. Meh, I’m biased.

If you’re cool with a trem and a smaller neck shape I’d make that trade all day long
9k bridge Isn’t super hot output by any means. Still sounds vintage.

I have always said that a trade, regardless of any 'financial' differences - makes sense if you are trading something you 'dislike' or don't ever use for something you can and will use. The DGT came from the McCarty as that was what Dave Grissom was playing until he had the opportunity to tweak it for his own personal signature model - the T stands for Trem (I believe)

If you are unsure, try the DGT first, give it a go and if you like it, feel like its a fair trade (consider condition of the guitars, case and case candy etc) then you can decide whether you want to swap or not. A trade has to suit both people and if the other is willing to swap their DGT, you have to decide if its something that you are willing to accept...
