I love my 2003 McCarty, it’s one of the two guitars I play the most.

An all black McCarty from 2000 popped up for sale close by and the price is interesting.

It’s all black and well worn, and I do have a soft spot for solid color prs with some wear on them. It’s a standard tho, all mahogany, with moon (or dot, I don’t lnow yet) inlays.

What should I expect from it compared to my regular McCarty?

More focus and rock tone. Maple capped should have a wider frequency reaponse.

I've had a couple McCarty Standards. One was black and the other gold top. They both had the maple cap, as could be seen by the natural binding on the body. If yours does have the natural edge/binding, it won't be different from a regular McCarty. In any event, I've never played a non-maple capped McCarty, so I really might not be any help here.
