I dropped some Lollar (standard set) P90’s in my McCarty korina a few weeks ago and they’re definitely holding up to the positive reviews I’ve read about em’. Beautiful crisp clarity on both pickups, but still has a great P90 grind. The neck pickup is phenomenal! Beautiful bell like clarity. I don’t think it could get any better. The bridge has the perfect grind, not too hot, but not sterile either. Very sensitive to height adjustments to get to the “Sweet Spot”. They sound like the perfect P90’s to me. I like my P90’s to retain a little bit of that single coil quack to em’ . Lollars do it perfectly.

There’s definitely sooo many options out there. SD antiques were my second choice. I love a good P90.

I do, too. The SDs were made in a version for the 594 Soapbar run, and the guitar sounds really, really good. I have a ‘65 SG Special with the original P-90s, and the SDs are remarkably similar in tone, very authentic.

I’ll bet the Lollars are excellent. If you get a chance and can record a clip...?

I’d love to, but I’m not very technical, I have a hard time posting a pic. I still haven’t figured that out.
Yeah I was very impressed with all the sound clips of the SD’s. It took me a month or two to really decide.
