I finally got this project a little farther along. New 8515s, locking bridge posts, new vol pot and new rosewood back plate. I gigged with this Saturday night and so far these pickups sound fantastic and has really transformed this guitar into something that I really desire to play. I don't get a 5909 type vibe from these but a hint of LP. I used it for 2 sets and will use it for our next gig before I really decide how I fell about them but for now I say KEEPERS!

Something I would like to add. Right now I have 4 prs guitars that I REALLY dig. McCarty 8515s, CU24 5909s, CE24 5708s and Mahogany CE22 5310s. I have been contemplating selling the others as these 4 have the vintage style pickups and that is what trips my trigger. I had thought that maybe I was getting tired of the 5708s but I used my CE24 for the last two sets thinking it would be ready for a string change and maybe swap pickups at the same time but I dialed my gain back a little on my amp and found that sweet spot again. I'll keep em for now.

I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful palate to choose from and it only took me close to 40 years to get here.

Very cool! I'm with you, I like the vintage style pickups, and I feel pretty darn lucky to have such great guitars!
