Finally got rosewood rings on along with M pickups. There is a rosewood toggle cap but didn't get that in the pic. We will practice Sunday so I can't set up gig rig until then to see how it sounds. Also went up to 11s since this guitar is in the lower tunings, that should help.

The pics really don't do it justice, the rings just totally change the look of the guitar. Oh, and it's cheaper than a new guitar!

My bridge studs were kind of loose too, I thought that was kind of odd for a core model. I put thread tape on them to hold them in place otherwise they move when you take the bridge off.

Looks great!! I love my McCarty as it plays and sounds godly. Did you have those made specifically for this guitar?

No, got them from Guilford Guitars Inc. I'm hooked on the rosewood rings man! It took a while for the product to make it to me after I paid for them on line but all is good.

I have to admit as much as I dislike the HFS pickup it sure sounded good in this guitar at D tuning and lower.

Looking good!

I keep thinking about doing that on my SCHBII but I can't decide between ebony to match the fretboard or rosewood like the headstock veneer.

I got no sense of fashion and can't accessorize. :girl: not.

I know right? Get a set of both?!?!?!

I agree, mine is tuned the same and I really like the tone I get. I usually swap out pickups in most guitars but as of now, I don't feel the need.

The stock McCarty bridge doesn't do it for me. I do like the McCarty neck pup though. I had a 5909 bridge in it and that sounded fabulous but was a little weak in D tuning so I put an HFS in it. Never liked the HFS in standard tuning but it worked in the lower tuning. I got a pretty good deal on the M set so I wanted to try them. If I end up not likingthe M pickupsI in D tuning then I may put HFS/VB in and leave it.

That looks awesome :) I've been wanting to do rosewood rings on my SECU24, but I don't know what pickups I want to upgrade to, lol.
