McCarty 594 SC, no 58/15 LT + anymore ?

I am going deep into understanding the ins and outs of the 594 SC model as this is my next purchase.

While doing some research I found that at some point this model got the 58/15 LT "+" pickups, said to be specially tailored for the single cut body.
So obviously, this being an incremental update like what PRS does, I noted this as a must have on recent guitars but now when I read the 2024 McCarty 594 single cut product page, there is no mention of this specific pickup variant anymore.

Does that mean the guitar now "just" gets the standard 58/15 LT (=like the double cut) or does that possibly mean that PRS just dropped that suffix while still pairing a tuned pickup variant with that guitar anyway ?

I would be interested to know before committing to a choice on a new guitar.

Thanks as always.

That's the thread that makes me kinda want to know more.

I may ask PRS CS as you suggest, I felt someone would already know.
Well my 594 SC is a 2019, which I believe is a year or two before they started using the + pups.
I would tell you this though... it is VERY sweet with the non + pups. That's why it took me 6 months to work up the courage to try the + pups I had purchased at the same time.
I looked for a 594 SC SH for a LONG time with + pups in it. I found them but few and far between, along with being a real budget stretch.
Best of luck on your search!

The thing is I found a solid body SC 594 I could buy, new, in stock with 58/15 LT +.
But, I am not sure I like the color. I don't like the new 2024 tuning pegs so not buying a 2024 may be the ticket but I am still hesitant. This is a lot of money to not be sure about.
Is the difference between the LT + and normal LT subtle or really obvious ? I would love your input on this.

I like the idea of having 58/15 MT in my SSH, 58/15 S in my HB II SE and maybe 58/15 LT+ in a SC 594 though...
Would I miss out not having "standard" 58/15 LT, that is the question. And no I won't plan on getting another guitar after that with these pickups.

Today I A/B'd the McRosie with the LT pups that were in the SC, with the 594 SC and + version.
I used the same Kemper Fender clean profile for both, and both guitars on the bridge pup with tone and volume cranked.
I got out my cellphone and started up the db meter app.
I played hard using big chords and saw the 594 push up to maybe 108db peak. Then I repeated the exact same thing with the McRosie. The difference in db "might" have been a drop of 1... maybe... The McRosie kinda "felt" less loud, but the app was insanely close for both.
The tone of the McRosie was/is clear, sweet, and exactly what I like in a bridge pup.
The tone of the 594 SC was/is VERY similar, but there is a noticeable sort of push or bloom of mid-highs.
So, to me, it's not like the + pups are really that "louder", it's more like a wider representation of the mid-highs.
One would think a similar thing could be done with the EQ on your amp, or pedal. Maybe the + pups are more suited for lead guitar? That's sure not me as a player.
Still going to beat them up more this weekend.

Thanks for your time. Can't wait to read the follow up after the week-end on the swap thread.

It's probably that PRS has tweaked the LT a touch with their evolution of 'understanding and TCI process so that now its made the LT+ redundant and/or players themselves can't really tell the difference that they decided not to continue something only in SC 594 models...

Or they coulda discontinued it like most of the other pickups people really, really liked.

It makes ‘em more special.

I spent a Sunday afternoon with a friend who had just bought an SC594 with the LT+ pickups, and we A/B-ed it pretty intensively with my non-LT+ SC594. We couldn't hear a material difference between the pickups. We decided that slight differences in the sound of the two guitars was just as attributable to variations in wood as to differences between the LT and LT+ pickups. I was mildly disappointed because I wanted to like the LT+ pickups but really couldn't hear that they mattered.

Well that's interesting!
What year were they respectively, and what wood differences (if any)?
