Hey all!

PRS like most brands, doesnt make the whole line left handed. Sales volumes are low, and to shut the line down to make lefty parts just doesnt make sense i guess- they stopped making them quite a ways back, and now just do limited runs of custom22 & custom24. If you are lefty, you are limited to those, and they aren't readily available.

Sucks.

I got my first PRS in around 1998 when they first started making lefty Custom22s and loved them. Also bought a standard McCarty in in early 2000's. Over the next decade, rotated through various of the same.. more custom 22, 24... but all these cool, new models you all get to just pop into a store and play- we cannot play them much less even order them. Unless you go private stock.

I met Paul at the Dallas guitar show and he said as much- i asked "Any plans to make more models in lefty?" He looked me in the eye and said "Sure... for a price". :/

So ive been through a lot of PRS - and a few Private Stocks (SC58, Special22 SH). I know and appreciate PRS as awesome guitars.

Ive been fortunate enough to pick up a new McCarty 594 left handed PS. Well, i can say aside from only one other guitar in my 30+ years of playing, this just completely, totally blew me away. The neck carve is P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Satin nitro finish, buckeye burl top, ebony board and headstock veneer, buckeye burl binding and birds, with gold MOP outlines. Black limba back.

Ive played a lot of guitars. Most are "good". Few are "great", and few are "horrible". This is at the top of the few "great" ones.. second only to my R9 i got back in 2007. And this I think destroys it in versatility.

Finally found that mix of Les Paul style grunt, with PRS versatility, playability, quality, weight, and in a double cut. So stoked.. I was expecting great things and this went way past what i was expecting.

Goodness, that's incredible!

My young grandson plays lefty. I had a heck of a time finding him a guitar to learn with. On the other hand, he's more into skateboard. So there's that.

oops... can an admin move to the electric forum? Wrong place :)
