Hey all,

I just picked up this USA 2022 nitro silver sky from a local deal. However, it has some markings on the side of the neck and throughout the inside of the upper horn. I am looking for advice on removing them as best as possible. I've tried some water and a microfiber cloth on the neck, but no success so far. It looks like a cross between permanent marker and like a lead pencil. Photos at - . It was a great deal, so worth it regardless, but would love to get at least the marks off the neck, if not the upper horn.

Thanks!

Light automotive rubbing compound ( I like Maguirs ) will remove most anything , I have also used alcohol and a cotton ball to remove ink

I’ve removed sharpie writing from guitars (not nitrocellulose lacquer) by writing over the top of the sharpie marks with an erasable white board marker. Works every time. I’d try it in a small, inconspicuous spot first.

From the first pic I thought “nitro contact” finish damage — but I can’t think of what the contact would be given the pattern up the horn. I mean, it looks like it could’ve been resting on some kind of pad — but I can’t imagine what…

What the hell? Never have seen anything like it….

I’ve always thought this was crazy when I heard it but it seems to work removing the marks on on a nitro neck (from a wall hanger hook)..naphtha/lighter fluid and elbow grease. Always be cautious and test a small spot first. Not sure if that would work on the body though…
