Maple silver sky question

I tend to be a fret eater but the maple neck silver sky is everything I want out of a strat...aside from stainless frets.

Does anyone know how the finish is done and if the fretboard will have to be refinished when refretted like an old strat?

The finish is nitro. When the old frets are pulled, it'll probably tear up the finish on the board, so you'll want to make sure your tech knows what they're doing.

If you do get one, you can look up Philtone Music in Baltimore when it’s time for a refret. He does mostly stainless steel frets jobs and had 6 maple fender necks in for refret last week when I was there. Phil used to work for PRS. He has the necks reshot by Chris Bavaria, who finished for PRS for about 17 years. He is known for his fret work.
