Low output after changing vol pot

I recently upgraded to a PRS designed 500k pot in my S2 Standard. It worked fine for a month or two but now has about 1/4 the output volume compared to the bridge pu. All connections seem to be fine, and match the wiring diagram.

Where do I start?

Double-check the grounds in your circuit.. This happened to me once. I had flipped the hot and ground wires - the audio signal was very, very low. Use a multimeter to verify your grounds are still continuous. If a hot wire is grounding out (touching a pot case or ground wire) it can affect output volume. You may also have a cold-solder joint on a (it looks legit on the outside, but is cracked inside). You may want to reflow all the connections on the new pot. Make sure your soldering iron is set to at least above 600 degrees (I like 650) and properly tinned so that it thoroughly melts the solder. When making connections, heat the piece, not the solder - so heat the pot lug and flow the solder onto it.
