Sounds like an overly aggressive treble bypass to me. I noticed a thinning out of the sound (loss of bass) with my 53/10 ltd and a standard 180pf capacitor - but then I'm only playing at home using short cables so I haven't got much treble loss in my signal chain. I just de-soldered one side of the capacitor and that instantly fixed it. You could play around with different values to get a less aggressive treble bypass if you essentially like the feature but if you've got the tools I'd certainly recommend taking one leg off first and seeing what that does for you. I also then went on to changing the capacitor on the tone control from 0.033uf to 0.022uf, which is a little brighter and helped to compensate for the removal of the treble bypass.
