I'm looking for some pickups suggestion for my prs s2 singlecut bridge. I have just recently picked up this guitar and the orginal owner took out the stock #7s. He replaced the neck with a Seymour Duncan 59 which I like the tone of and the bridge with a Gibson 498T (not a fan of it). I would love to find something similar that isnt gonna cost me my kidney. Should I go back to stock #7s or keep the SD-59 and change the bridge? I play through a fender amp and typically play clean with some bluesy over drive for some lead. Typically Mayer kinda vibe. Help with this is greatly appreciated.

Why not get a matching '59 model bridge pickup? I have them in two guitars and really like them. I have a covered JB in the bridge of my core 594 and it kicks some serious butt in that guitar. If you don't do much high gain stuff, I'd probably go with the '59.

Another '59 bridge humbucker would be an obviously excellent choice; the JB humbucker is also legendary--but it might be a touch too aggressive/cutting than you are looking for in the blues-y/Mayer vibe.

I'd actually recommend a Seymour Duncan Custom 5, which is similar to a '59 (so you will retain a lot of "common base tone" between pickups) but stronger/more output for when you want it, and also to balance the bridge position (which typically needs more output/volume) with the neck position (which is typically louder due to physics).

Another vote for the Duncan ‘59 bridge. I’ve never liked the JB in any guitar I’ve tried one in.

Maybe one of Larry's PAFs?
I have them in the bridge position of 2 guitars
(non PRS) and really like the way they sound.

I agree - the '59 bridge sounds good, and I've never understood the love for the JB.

Other options I'd suggest checking out would be a Wolfetone Dr Vintage or a Railhammer Hyper Vintage.
