Looking at picking up a(nother) used CE

So I have a pair of OG CEs currently - a 97 and an 04. The 97 had Dragon 1s in it (I opted to go with an old HFS/VB set instead), and the 04 has Dragon 2s.
The axe I'm looking at is another 97 (CE 22): the guy selling it says it's all original electronics, and that the previous owner told him they were Dragon 2s.

I can't play the guitar before hand...just curious when the "official" switch over was from D1s to D2s.
Having a Dragon 2 in the bridge isn't a deal breaker for me...just thought it'd be a nice compliment to my HFS and Dragon 2 to also have a D1 in the bridge pickup mix.

D1's were in CE22' s from 94 to 97, In 98 they started D2's.
I would imagine there are some anomalies such as late 97's getting D2's and early 98's getting D1's depending on build dates.
