Indeed that was in the box! Private Stock Hollowbody II from the recent NAMM show. I spotted it about a week ago and literally lost sleep over it. Finally couldn’t take it anymore and cracked. Haha. Beautiful guitar. Think the color is called Faded Trampas Green Smoke Burst or similar.
I've owned three "grey" PRSi over the years... 1) A CU24 Stoptail...my very first PRS, but I sadly don't have any pictures of it. 2) A SCT: 3) A Wood Library P245 in Grey / Black Fade:
I always say I wouldn't buy a guitar for looks alone. That might be an exception to the rule! Wow. All the guitars in this thread look fantastic, though.
All fantastic looking pieces, I guess it's time for me to photograph my recently acquired Frostbite fatback CU24. Will report back soon ;-)
yeah I get that and sometimes I’ll walk away from a guitar I see online for a few days just to see how it “ages”. All the ones I’ve posted here are guitars that I couldn’t get out of my head for days or even weeks. Luckily I work with some great retailers and I am confident in PRS quality and consistency.
Funny how a color considered to be the most boring and undistinguished (hence the term "gray area") can generate this much attention, and produce some of the best finishes PRS does.
