Let’s see your PRS family Photos!

edit: update Aug, 2022

Well, I've owned a fair few PRS guitars over the years, but these precious few are the crème de la crème to me, the ones that just ring my bells, tingle my toes, tickle my fancy and set my fingers free...

l to r: 25th Anniversary Custom, 25th Anniversary Mira, Exp2018 Special SH, Hollowbody II (w/ 57/08s), core Starla, SC245 Goldtop

The 25th Custom and the Starla have seen the lion's share of abuse over the years; they're trim and tight and the playability is off the charts but they aren't "mint" anymore, that's for sure (I had to Goo Gone some residual bar nastiness off the Starla for this photo, in fact)... The Special 22 semi-hollow is my latest addition, and it cost me three of my other guitars (a Gretsch and my NF3 and SE One) to raise the considerable funds it required, but it was so worth it; I'm in love with this guitar...

Well, the Sunburst 22 in my previous post was the only one I had...til today! I added 'an older sister' to it...2007 Singlecut Satin...added a pair of 57/08's to this one. As you can see in pic one, the finish is a bit dry and dull even for a satin. So, I debated and then finally took a chance on rejuvenating this one with pledge with orange oil. A fairly quick wipe on and then wipe off after 30-40 seconds...love it!!! The last two photos are after a few hours...retained the new luster well without compromising the satin feature.

It plays well and sounds amazing with the 5708's in it.

What a cool guitar! Yeah, 57/08s would sound gooooood in that one! What's weird is that I have no memory whatsoever of that particular model.

That is beautiful! I don’t know why I slept on that model.
If you ever need to move it...:)

I shouldn't say "never", so I'll leave it with..."not for at least 6 months???" LOL! Played it in church this morning. The guitar was obviously superb with that fat wide neck, but those pickups emanated that same mojo that's in my Sunburst 22. But, I really did love what the Pledge w/ Orange oil did for it. Enough to clean a bit and then nourish it as it did still breathe and take a small bit of oil into the surface to stay. Or, it broke enough of the light nitro with it to blend well. Since playing and hand oils tend to gloss it a bit, I figured...what the heck?

My current collection of 3. At most I had 7 PRSes at one point but I traded in 3 for the Graveyard and 2 on the Paul's 85. So it's been narrowed down.

That's a threesome I could get into!

Here's my crew that I've happily settled on (for the time being of course!). I got my single coils in the silver sky, my vintage humbucker in the S2 594, a modern humbucker with CE 24 semi-hollow, and acoustic with SEA60e. Makes me one pretty happy man. I've culled the rest of my guitars as I wasn't enjoying them nearly as much as these.

Killer flame on that Paul’s 85!!

This one is estranged from its family (royal clans numbering 28 and now 85), and is thus always seen hanging out alone :p

Wow, love that estranged family member!!! What does the Paul's 24 on the back of headstock mean? Was that a limited run from 2011 or something even more special? Sorry I don't know enough history to answer that myself, but I will learn ;~))

Cheers~

Oh it’s nothing that grand. It’s simply a private stock build made to replicate all the Paul’s 28 features but is a 24 fret Custom 24 Stoptail. Therefore it was just privately named as Paul’s 24. It’s not a run of 24 guitars. Thus my tongue in cheek post.

Brilliant concept by the original owner though, and very sporting and gracious of Paul to lend his name in that manner. It’s definitely a special guitar, a back-in-the-day thing!
