I was listening on my phone while messing around in the kitchen. I didn’t really notice any difference when plugged in. I had my back turned when he started playing acoustically. Instant perking up of my ears and I thought, that’s gotta be the core. Looked back and it was.

Agree on the ballpark being about the same amplified. SE was a little more in your face than the core version amplified. The core was a little more laid back, warmer and layered if that makes sense. I would have liked to hear a little less gain and beefed up low end sounds for a fair comparison; his tone is not really discerning there. The split sounds were horrible to me, but that is clearly his sound, his York Audio IR mixes have the same finger print.
Unplugged the difference was pretty big I must say, enough to clearly prefer the core, combined with the amplified sound that had a little more to my liking.

Kind of where I expected it would go. There is a reason the core costs a lot more.
