I'm thinking about throwing some thick strings on one of my 00 Singlecuts and tuning it down to B standard
What's the largest string any of you have used in a PRS vintage style tuner? Without drilling, BTW.

These strings are fairly heavy, and also coated.

WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER PICK...

I use a .060 on the bottom a lot, I don't recall ever having to drill the Kluson type tuner on any of the 3 guitars I've had them on. I think I might've had on the phase II tuner(before the brass post existed), but not on the phase III's. Also, the Gotoh locking Kluson was just fine.

Thank you. :five: Looks like I've got a little project for myself!
I knew with the winged and phase II tuners I could only fit a .052 in them and now I know about the Klusons.

FWIW, drilling a phase II out is very easy and there's no ill side effect to doing it. Just remove the thumb screw on top and use minimal speed.

If all goes well with the Singlecut, I may just set up a Cu22 and drill out the one phase II tuner.
