you don't often see wood like this anymore....this just jumped off the page, its in the UK on reverb but no CITEs as ebony fretboard, and has notable history as the employee guitar (..'2005 PRS Santana II Semi-hollow built for PRS employee Alan Gelston to mark his 7th anniversary at the company....')

Great top; no doubt. But it seems to me that there is much more awareness of figured wood today compared to years past. As a result, figured maple that used to be shredded for paper is sorted and saved and buyers including many guitar companies are gobbling it up. I think there’s lots of good figured wood right now. The questions are at what price (since demand is also much higher), and how long will it last?
