Keith Urban Tele??

So, just to clarify, the OP's linked article states:

“Paul was like, 'Good God, what are you asking for?' I'm like, 'I'm just asking for a little struggle!'” Keith Urban is working with PRS on a new Tele-style guitar – and he wants to break the company's rules

The recent photos of what looks like a SH Paul's Guitar with a customized F-hole seems like a move towards that T-style, but it clearly isn't a T-style.

So I wonder if "this is it, now", and there will be no KU T-style, instead it will be a SH Paul's with different F-hole. Or is the T-style coming out later, and this was just an experimental transitional model to see how certain changes worked?

I'd rather the SH T-style, please.

I had no idea the reverence for Keith Urban umongst musicians...

What's his best song; his magnus opus?

I would totally hit that! Also, that F hole looks familiar.....

He's not that kind of player; he's not a EVH or Vai. He's more of a Lukather. He's very unique and creative at soloing on songs, the stuff he comes up with is stamped with his own style. There's no "one song" that will make someone a Keith Urban fan, it's really about playing guitar in and for the song.

Some people like to post videos of "Clutterbilly" which was his early attempt at a "watch me play" type of instrumental, but it's nowhere near the top, or even the middle, of his good stuff.

And LIVE is where he really shines.

This is a good one (outro solo is the bomb) Watching this one always makes me want a Les Paul Junior LOL

Thanks for the suggestions.

My dad, who passed away 16 years ago, never listened to newer music. He loved Keith Urban... I never really listened to him.

OLD Keith Urban- his first 5 albums- were great
The Ranch (this was actually a band- a trio- that he led)
Keith Urban
Golden Road
Be Here
Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing
...after that, he started getting to 70's pop for me, alot of drum machines, very "soft" songwriting, I felt like he was going into Shaun Cassidy territory. But his early stuff- when he was still hungry, was the best (true for many artists).

He has been playing this guitar a ton lately... sounds very similar to what he was describing in the article except for not being a t-shape. The neck in this video looks like it maybe was "reliced" or something? In the other videos of him playing this recently, it was just a normal looking maple neck.

Can anyone tell if the neck is a bolt on? Assuming they release the model a bolt on would keep the price manageable

Here is another video of him playing that guitar. He has played this guitar almost exclusively in a lot of his performances lately.

I was kind of hoping it would have the same style bridge as the NF 53 though but either way this thing looks awesome
