Keith Urban Tele??

Paul has to always be doing a new project as he is a workaholic.
Paul Should Work On A New Project Of Making The Original McCarty (Not A 594) With No Cheap Looking Binding And A Nice Wrap Bridge. Heck, I Would Even Opt For The PRS Locking Tuners Over Klusons And To Show My Good Faith And Willingness To Play Nice I Would Even Accept The Ugly New Tuner Buttons. Can We Get That New Model?

The Same Can Be Said Of The Original Singlecut And Tremonti. Make Those Great Guitars Great Again...Again. 😂

I'm interested. But then I was interested in the NF53. Not quite enough to BUY one, but...

Keith is one of my favorite players/artists (his older stuff tho: anything after "Love, Pain, and the Whole Crazy Thing" album started getting too John Mayer-Richard Marx-inspired for my taste. Golden Road and Be Here are desert island albums for me.

But I hope it's not just unique for unique's sake. Frankly, I wish Fender had just made a KU sig tele long ago (they certainly could have sold a ton of them- cashing in while he was on his way up)... all I really want is a 40th Anniversary tele (2 pickups please), but maybe add a belly contour, forearm contour, and some kind of noiseless "single-coil" pickups.

But I'm interested. I do think PRS did really well with the design of the Silver Sky, if I was a strat guy I would have bought one.

And I totally get what Keith is saying about "fighting" the guitar... in a good way. My #1 tele (inspired by Keith, actually) plays like butter- even better than my DGT- thanks to stainless steel frets (like sliding on ice!), but retains some "fight" thanks to bigger strings (10-52) and high-ish action. Live, I tend to play pretty aggressively sometimes and the fight is a GOOD thing (think SRV... altho I'll never do a .013 for a high E !!)

I'm a little on the higher side with the action, as well. I like that dirty blues-rock-hard-rock sound...

When a manufacturer makes too many styles of guitars to please everyone, you start to loose your identity as a company. The NF 53 is a nice Tele type of a guitar with its own identity. Now they want to come out with a more Tele guitar with 3 pickups and semi hollowbody character.

I'm started to get disappointed. Too many guitar choices will make PRS loose their identity of what kind of guitars they make. Paul has to always be doing a new project as he is a workaholic. When you think Gibson, Fender, G&L, Gretch, or Musicman, there is a personality that each company has. As a marketing person who worked in NYC for 7 years, I think PRS are going to far. I hope I'm wrong but getting to be a bigger company creates more problems.

While I understand your point, we’re talking Keith F’n Urban here.

Sounds like a Keith Urban Nashville Thinline?
Nice acronym...
My mother thinks you’re horrible. My wife is leaning that way, but trying to control a smirk. Me? - “Heh, heh… you said k…”
No combover here. I have plenty up top. No horseshoe special. I'd shave it if it was... LoL!!!
I’m too lazy to shave my head. #2 on top, #1 on the sides, tighten up with the beard trimmer on 0. After 2 weeks it gets unruly. Luckily she’s not just my wife, she’s my barber (and nurse, confidant, pal,…)

I don't think they expect to sell as many of Keith's guitars as the Silver Sky. Perhaps come out with a limited edition like the John Mclaughin guitar and if it sells well.....we will see. I personally have no interest in this guitar, however the NF 53 I do.

I bought all the parts. Finished the body and pickguard. My luthier/tech put it all together. Love it.
