Christmas before Christmas!
 
As for the maid dress gimmick (which has evolved a lot since their debut, from the typical french maid to something much more elaborate and removed from the maid image), it's been their choice from the start: the band's founder (Miku Kobato, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, lyrics, poker and horses) had worked in a maid cafĆ© and started the band with a specific image in mind: an ā€œinnocentā€-looking band playing hard rock music, so that the audience would be fooled and surprised when they started playing.

I was skeptical when I first discovered them, but I forgot all about the way they dressed when I watched their live videos. Exactly the same thing happened when I discovered AC/DC and a guy dressed like a schoolboy ;) . Since then I saw them live and it was even better than expected (and "really" live - no autotune or playback).

If itā€™s their choice, thatā€™s cool.

Kanami has some set of chops on her.
 
I have no problem with gimmick dressing, especially for them to gain attention. Weā€™re talking a society that is even more male-centric than ours. I LOVE brushstroke birds and the 24-08 switching. Yes, they can play and I wish them all the success they can want. And itā€™s not even my style of music.
 
I am so thrilled for Kanami for getting this. I am also stunned by how quickly they sold out (practically immediately). I'm glad I got my order in as soon as they were announced.

I wonder if they would do an SE run, because the amount of young fans that would buy one, it would be an awesome way to get some new, young guitarists into the PRS family.

There's still some available in Europe (probably because the price is much higher because of the heavy taxes).

Anyway, the limited run is an obvious success (the Kanami video is also quickly becoming the most viewed on PRS YT channel for 2024), so I would not be surprised if an SE run was decided.

After three weeks and a confirmed ship date of 27 December, GC cancelled my order this afternoon without notice (no email or phone call). I just noticed the status change on the website (was fine this morning). Calling them up didn't help. I hope no one here ends up going through this.
