I was offered a straight trade for a 2008 Custom 24 artist package (ebony board, headstock veneer, 59/09s) for my 2010 Ted McCarty SC245 10 top (59/09 bridge, 57/08 neck). The Custom 24 had a couple of dings, but nothing I'm too worried about. I'm tempted, but don't know if there is a value discrepancy.

I'd say you are close in value, Unless it's a Wood Library Ted, they rarely go for more than a used AP Custom 24. If there is a value difference it's only a couple $100 worth.

I'd say play it and see if you like it better than yours. I mean, really, are you a player or collector? My Cu24 belonged to a touring musician that a vintage store got from the factory. It had a few little character spots, add to it that I chewed on the headstock a few times, but I've yet to be offered a guitar that felt more comfortable and sounded better then it. It's stock and sounds/feels incredible just the way it is, so why possibly go to something that you won't feel as great playing?

I would keep the Ted. The new generation of AP guitars are great, I was never a fan of the old colors or specs.
