Hi,

I just bought a 2006 PRS CE 24 guitar. It has a yellow-orange type finish to it. I bought this guitar because it was within my budget for buying guitars and although I have 2 prs se guitars that are very nice guitars, I always wanted a guitar made in Maryland since I live in the area. This is indeed a milestone for me because I never thought I would have enough money to buy a core model new or used. I played it through my VVT Night Owl Amp (15watts) but I think the guitar will sound better in my Mesa-Boogie amplfier. A couple of PRS guitars have played seemed to sound better through Mesas, I think my VVT is better for guitars with a single pick up configuration. All I need now is to put new strings on and have it set up. Sorry no pics but any observations, questions, and advice is welcome. Thank You.

Thanks Sergio, the whole prs experience is relatively new for me. I never seriously entertained the thought of owning one until I went to the PRS Experience 2013. After that, I was interested in owning one but how they are so expensive. A bass player friend of mine recommended I try the se models. I did and was really impressed by the quality of those guitars. The opportunity to buy a US made PRS came about and I figured I'd give it a try. I had played another PRS and it was in the same price range as the one I just bought and I really liked that particular guitar it may have been a CE 24 or a CE 22, but I just wasn't prepared to spend the money and I should have gone to my brother and borrowed the money, and I lived to regret the day I did not do that.

It sounds a little different from my other prs guitars: se custom 24 and se Santana model and I guess that is to be expected. This guitar does have something of a strat sound to it but it actually sounds different from a strat or at least the couple of strats I own. I'm slowly getting used to the sound of it. I played it through a 70's fender silver face twin reverb amp ate store, but that amp sounds a bit different than my VVT and my Mesa-boogie, but I need to lower the action and put on some DR strings before I can really get a handle on the feel of the guitar. However, so far so good
