Just bought 2014 SE Kestrel Bass - is it really a 7.5" fretboard radius?

Hi -

LOVE the new bass. Gorgeous! (Got a like new 2014 Red one.)

My understanding is the fretboard radius is 7.5". I like to do my own setups, etc. and did not have that radius on hand. I searched and searched and can't find a 7.5 anywhere, even StewMac.

I wrote PRS customer service and they said fretboard radius was 10". I forgot to to tell them it was a 2014...so maybe it changed in future years?

So, which answer is true on the 2014 radius - does someone know?

If it is 7.5, any idea where I could get the proper radius gauge?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

As far as I know PRS has never done a 7.5" radius. 10" is the norm for PRS. There are a few that are greater than 10", but none are less.

Thanks for the info. John Beef.

Actual discussions on this board (from 2014) mentioned the bass having the 7.5 radius. I'm out of town at the moment, but when I return home I'll try my 10 gauge and see if that works.

And yes, I want to set the bridge radius Spikedog and toothace.
