Just ariived: 2002 McCarty Hollowbody Dots: "MILKY"

I'm still getting up to speed on this one. No hang tag. Were McCarty pups the spec, or.....?

Also, this one doesn't have a push-pull tone pot for splitting. Was this normal back then, or was this a mod?

Regardless, I'm digging the sound, feel, all that jazz. A very nice compliment to my DGT SH.

McCarty Archtop pickups. Essentially a very under wound set of McCarty pups. No taps.

Thank you!

Just LOVING this thing. Again, just shaking my head at missing PRS guitars all these years!!!!

SNS Fender. We spent a long time together, but I'm breaking up with you.

I have a very special place in my heart for the Hollowbody I.

I liked them so much that in 2000 when the time came that I could place an order for a Private Stock guitar, I chose to merge my 2 faves. A McCarty Soapbar, and the HBI.

Ended up with one of the first real PRS hollowbody guitars with P90s in it. I remember having conversations with the HB team until they figured out a way to do it.

Anyway, this goldtop is a beaut. Major congrats. I am also partial to opaque finishes on PRS guitars. You really get to see the beautiful lines of the body that way.

And you just dont see HBIs so much anymore.

Enjoy that killer!

That is one helluva score! Congrats on that one!! Glad you have finally seen the light, it is a beautiful thing and many of us, once bit by the PRS bug, will never let go ;~)) I purchased my first in Jan '21 and by July of '21 I had 3 including a PS CU24, a McCarty 594 HBII WL and a Core CU24 ;~)) Incredible guitars and they sparked my desire to play like no other instruments I have ever touched.
