Just picked this up from GC yesterday. I googled "McCarty dots" and was surprised to see it at my local GC. I'm very new to PRS (via the DGT gateway drug). I've been COMPLETELY enjoying my DGT SH so much that it instantly became my #1...and spurred a selloff of pretty much everything. No more horsing around between different guitars (3 Collings. Gone. 2 Nachos. Gone. With 3 FCS Strats also on the block). That's how much I like my DGT. Never saw it coming. I'm embarrassed of my prior, unfounded/ignorant, thoughts on PRS. I couldn't have been more off base.

Anywho, this McCarty. Jeez am I enjoying it. It's SO light. Crap. I gotta get used to the neck dive, but whatever.

I've done some digging and it seems like a bit of a rare bird. I haven't seen many other Hollowbody Goldtops with dots (my pref of inlays).

Only bummer is that it has a good kiss of the "foggy finish". I've named the guitar: "Milky". It's ok..while a bummer, it'll only encourage more aggressive playing.

Beauty! Is there any of the milkyness on the top? I couldn't tell in the pics. If there's non on the gold areas, it wouldn't bother me. Anyway, congratulations on the terrific guitar!

Beautiful.. what did you pay?

Very nice. Congrats. Those are much prettier than typical dots for sure.

If you don't mind I'm going to personally refer to this guitar of yours as "Milk & Honey". 🥛 🍯

Yes!

But they're not dots, they're mooooooons!

I know. I’m over the moon(s) about it.

Just on the top of the horns and heel. Nothing on the front. I’m cool with it. I’ve read about the issue.

I do find it interesting given PRS’ obsession with quality.

GC had it listed for $3,499. lol. I paid $2,699. I plan on contacting GC CS and working them a bit for more off. The worst they can say is no.

I give them plenty of biz.
