Hi everybody just picked up a PRS SE Custom 24 and think it might be the 25th anniversary edition. It has the Bird Fret Board and a beautiful Quilted Maple top, but the serial number begins with "J". Is this possibly an early example. Thanks for any thoughts. I would include pics, but not sure how.

It seems you do know that J is 2009, but the birds did come in 2010 along with the nicer top. I'd say they probably did make some late in 2009 for the 25th Anni inventory. It's still a guess though.

Thank you, Gentlemen. I think that I read somewhere, that at some point in 2009 they stopped production of the regular guitar and began to produce the 25th Anniversary for 2010. I really think this must be one of those. Regardless, I'm very pleased. Thanks for your reply.

Pics would be beneficial in order to give you an accurate assessment

I would love to post some pics, but I don't have a URL : ( When I click on the icon to insert a pic, it asks me for my URL. Is there any other way to submit a picture?

Please let me know if the link works and thanks for your help : )

Nope, got the home page. click on your photo in photobucket and when you get the photo alone on the page there will be a link to the right that says "Direct". Click in that line and it will say "copied". Then just paste that address in the "insert Image" icon (looks like a portrait of a tree) in a post in this thread and it will appear here.

AP515, I just noticed that I'm not allowed to post attachments. I guess that is because I am new to the forum. That may explain the problem. Once again thanks for all your help.

No-one can upload attachments (except Mods).

Go to the actual photo in your Photobucket - the page where the whole photo is displayed, after you click on the particular photo in your library. On the right side there should be options called "Share Links". Left Click on the link inside the box beside the one called "Direct" - it may flash yellow with "Copied" after you click. The link is now copied to your clipboard. Alternatively you can copy right out of the box by selecting the text and hitting Ctrl-C or whatever you use to Copy.

Then, in this thread, hit reply or go to the Quick Reply thread at the bottom, click on the Insert Image icon, a dialog box pops up, and hit Ctrl-V (or whatever you use to paste). The URL will copy into the dialog box. Hit OK. The image is now embedded in your post with IMG tags. Like this:

{IMG}http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab246/shinksma/Guitars%20and%20music/IMG_6188_1024_zpsthou38yc.jpg{/IMG}

Except the curly brackets show up as square brackets as you edit the reply. It gets displayed thusly:

IMG_6188_1024_zpsthou38yc.jpg

(That's tonight's iteration of my main pedal board...)

Nope. First, you need to use the Insert Image tool so it adds the IMG tags properly with square brackets [square brackets].

Secondly, you are just using the URL to your overall library, not a specific image. And the library link doesn't work because we aren't logged into Photobucket as you - only you are logged in as you. So we get redirected somewhere else.

I can tell your link is to a library and not an image because it starts with "s1026" - image paths start with an "i", and would probably be "i1026" or something.

As you can see in my example, you should have a big long URL, with the photo image file name at the end, ending in ".jpg".

Something like

http colon/slashies i1026.photobucket.com/albums/blah/GalvestonGuy/MyGuitars/GuitarPhoto1.jpg

(I took out the stuff that will parse it into a link, because it is just a fake one...)

First, let me just thanks for taking the time to try to help me with this, it is very kind of you. I tried it again this afternoon and still no luck. I log on to Photobucket > Open Library> Open an image of the guitar>click Direct http://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y321/GalvestonGuy/PRS1_zpsmtkigkag.png > It turns yellow & says copied> come here click on Insert Image icon> right mouse click ad select Paste > address shows in box> hit OK> Nothing Happens. I'll be happy to email you the image or my photobucket log on info. Best Regards, GG

Thanks AP, I ended up typing in the address and it created a hot link that worked. I really appreciate everyone's patience and assistance. The Serial # is J22XXX so I'm thinking it is an early 25th Anniversary model. If so I think that makes it kind of special, if not it is still special to me : )
