John Mayer Tour Guitars

John Mayer is all over the place man. I've been watching the Sob Rock clips from the last few days and see him playing:

Honey
SS Moc Sand
SS Silver-Grey looking
SE SS Moon White
Paul's Guitar in a gorgeous Blue Ice flame type finish with Zebra Oblobbins

WTH John Mayer? How many more guitars you gonna play on tour???

That's actually pretty reserved for a superstar guitarist, if that's all. The Edge literally takes a semi-trailer full of guitars with him on tour.

Most touring groups have a tremendous arsenal of guitars with them. When the Eagles reformed and did their Hell Freezes Over tour in '94, just for the performances on stage they used (if memory serves correctly) 72 guitars for each performance. At least that's how it was reported in the reviews. God knows how many they had at their disposal just in case. As one of the bizzillion fans that were in the seats during that run, I would say that's a fair assessment of how many there really were. Doubt there was a single PRS in the mix though, but 28 years ago I didn't know PRS even existed. Shame on me for that!
